EarthSense Labs has been selected under the IN-SPACe Seed Fund Scheme to develop an advanced Reservoir Rim Slope Monitoring solution using InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The initiative aims to strengthen water infrastructure monitoring by leveraging satellite technology for early detection of slope instability around reservoirs.

The program, led by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), supports innovative applications of space technology across critical sectors, including agriculture, disaster management, water security, and infrastructure resilience. Following a rigorous technical evaluation of 92 proposals, EarthSense Labs was among the 15 organizations selected to undertake pilot demonstrations across five strategic use cases.

Project Focus

As part of the Water Security use case, EarthSense Labs will develop an AI-powered reservoir monitoring solution that combines InSAR satellite data with advanced geospatial intelligence to monitor reservoir rim slopes and detect subtle ground deformation.

The solution is designed to provide early warning of slope instability, enabling proactive infrastructure management, improved reservoir safety, and enhanced disaster preparedness through continuous satellite-based monitoring.
